NNENN at Poetry Polder Slam

June 22nd, 2016

This Friday, we’ll be playing at the Poetry Polder Slam in Hoofddorp. The slam will take place in a library. As far as we know, we’ve never played in a library before. We’re looking forward to the event, since lyrics are important to us and we might experience an audience that truly listens to what we want to communicate. Our friend Cestmir Bergsma is going to recite his poems there, if you’re there, you can support him too.

When: 24th of june at 20:00
Where: Raadhuisplein 7, Hoofddorp, The Netherlands

May 25th, 2016

We’ve got a new song called I’m ready and we played it live on PvC-TV.

NNENN selected for Popronde 2016!

May 1st, 2016

Great news: Pinguin Radio just announced that we, along with 138 other Dutch acts such as Jeangu Macrooy and our friends from Roots Rising, have been selected for Popronde 2016! This means that we will be playing a lot in all of Holland, this autumn. Time to celebrate!

May 1st, 2016

This Sunday, we were invited by Martijn van Hese, director and founder of Partij voor Cultuur, to play and talk during the recordings of his fourth TV broadcast called PvC-TV. The “Partij voor Cultuur” is the biggest non-eligible party that denounces the meaning of culture in our society today. The recordings took place at the studio of artist Ronald A. Westerhuis from Zwolle, The Netherlands. Ronald makes humongous sculptures out of stainless steel. Other guests were Rob Scholte, an interesting artist who started a museum in Den Helder, The Netherlands, and Eric Blom, who makes programs for Dutch television. The subject of the broadcast was the role of the audience in relation to us; whether we paint, make music, TV programs or sculptures. It was an interesting experience to play our brand new song I’m Ready surrounded by Ronald’s work. Here’s a picture of us live, made by the friendly sound technician Henri Paarhuis.

Work hard, eat well

April 23rd, 2016

During one of our rehearsal weekends, we took everything we could carry from home to Productiehuis Oost-Nederland, so we’d be able to cook properly while rehearsing, because, in our modest opinion hard work requires good food. 🙂

Rehearsal weekends!

April 22nd, 2016

Lately, we’ve started doing rehearsal weekends again to reinvent ourselves and to investigate the possibilities of working together with other musicians. We’ve already worked with cello player Jurriaan Westerveld, who joined us at a few gigs, which was great. Furthermore, we’re curious what’s going to happen if we invite a drummer to play with us. We’ll keep you posted! Here’s a picture of Johanneke, working on a new song that’s called I’m Ready. The song came into being on one of these weekends.

We’re looking for a movie maker!

March 2nd, 2016

Hello everyone!

This is the demo of our new single Don’t feel guilty, love. Like we said it’s a demo, which means that we’re going to record it in another way soon, please see this as a blueprint. We’d like to release our second clip along with the song and are looking for the right moviemaker. Perhaps it’s you who wants to work with us. If you feel inspired by the song, please don’t hesitate to contact us through nnenn@oninternet.nl and tell us what you have in mind. We’d like the clip for DFGL to have a different approach than Snapshots of Eternity, the clip we made with Andres FouchĂ©, because it’s a completely different song. It would be great if you could share this post with you movie maker friends.

Cello recordings with Jurriaan

February 16th, 2016

Today’s a good day with a clear blue sky and the sun shining through the windows; a perfect moment for cello recordings with Jurriaan Westerveld. So happy to have you, Jurriaan, you did a great job 🙂

Interview KindaMuzik online!

February 10th, 2016

Today, this brand-new interview by Niels Steeghs from Dutch music blog KindaMuzik was posted on the internet (in Dutch). We spoke to him in a place called “Verkadefabriek“, a former cookie factory that closed its doors in 1993. Years later, the city decided to give it a new destination; a center for theatre and film. Good for us!

Due to car trouble, we arrived later than expected, which made us decide to combine the interview with dinner. While the waiters were serving us, we tried hard to drown out the noises of the passionately chattering people. Niels mainly asked us about our album and the collaboration with our management Productiehuis Oost-Nederland. The pictures were taken by Joséphine Kurvers at festival Eurosonic Noorderlag. Niels, thanks a lot for your patience and the beautiful way in which you managed to describe us! To read the interview, see link.
