LYRICS Don’t Feel Guilty Love:

You pull the heavy blankets up
you try to hide within yourself
you point at lines I shouldn’t cross
and block the road I used to walk

You set so many things on fire
search for wisdom while they burn
you strangle me, you curse yourself
throw empty bottles down the shelf

Don’t feel guilty, love
I can’t relate to what you’re feeling
so the cuts of your rage won’t cut so deep

You do not have to be afraid
I will not put you in a cage
you’ll fight the demons off your back
I’ll be around just like that

Don’t feel guilty, love
I can’t relate to what you’re feeling
so the cuts of your rage won’t cut so deep

Don’t feel guilty, love
I can’t relate to what you’re feeling
so the cuts of your rage won’t cut so deep

Support by Productiehuis Oost-Nederland

In september 2014, Productiehuis Oost-Nederland (ON) showed their interest in NNENN, after they already supported Johanneke’s solo work. We showed them our studio recordings and they were convinced, it needed a stage. To help us, explore our music intensely, they offered us their place in Deventer where artists such as No Blues, Kyteman, BOT and Knarsetand have been working out their ideas before. Back then, we lived in Enschede, so when we went to ON, we used to stay for days. It felt like camping; we’d come with the big lilac bus of our friend Arthur (didn’t have our own car yet), packed with food, juggler balls, bikes, pictures to spread on the table to find connections with the music and of course our gear. Knowing that we wouldn’t bother anyone, we’d make music till deep in the night. It sometimes occurred that we woke up, completely unaware if it was morning, afternoon or night; we’d shut all the hatches. We lived completely isolated, in our own bubble and that is how we worked our way to our first try-out shows a couple of months later. It was a truly inspiring time that we look back on with a big smile. We’re grateful for the opportunities that ON offers us and we’re looking forward to the future!
